Marketing Case Study

Fried Egg I'm In Love

When you think about eggs, do you think about the beautiful scent of them or deliciousness? Well, Jace Krause thought about deliciousness. He always dreamed of having his own business. That dream did not become reality until he moved to Oregon from California. He knew that he loved to cook and knew how to cook some yummy eggs. That is when the idea to popped in his head. He started the food cart and it remained successful, so became the sole proprietor in 2017. Krause did not have any training other then working in other restaurants chains, but that did not stop him. After he became the sole proprietor, he opened another food cart in Portland, OR.

Krause favorite meal of the day is breakfast, and of course it is eggs. He would frequently make his wife's favorite fried egg sandwich, so he recreated that to a signature shop for his food truck which is called Fried Egg I'm in Love. Fried Egg I'm In Love value proposition is feed hungry and sleepy people in Portland some favorable sandwiches. According to FEIIL (Fried Egg I'm in Love) official page, they are known for the best Portland, OR. breakfast sandwiches.  They have gluten-free and vegetarian options which allows other that have dietary need to also enjoy these sandwiches. They have a list of different sandwiches they sell but they also sell a burrito, coffee (hot or cold), mimosas, local beers, and hard ciders. This small food truck in Portland sells all that! It is amazing, Another awesome things about this sandwiches is that the bread come from a Portland French Bakery and the eggs are from the local farm.

FEIIL has three active social medias: Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. It looks like they frequently post there and they do an awesome job to share customer pictures because they really enjoy that. They are more active with their Facebook and Instagram which I think it is okay. They just need to stay active in a couple pages. Too many online accounts can turn sloppy sometimes if not well managed. I think Krause somewhat created a Purple Cow as Seth Godin would call a unique business. There is not many companies that specialize in sandwiches and more importantly egg sandwiches. It is a great idea and probably not very costly.

I looked at some of their reviews and most of them talk about how good the sandwiches are but there are a lot that are talking about how long the wait line is to get an excuse me what? A sandwich egg? Well as you can imagine people are not very happy but more hangry about the sandwich taking more than 30 minutes to be ready. They thought a food truck would deliver their food quickly but they were wrong. If I was the marketer manager of this shop, I would really pay close attention to the customer because then again I do not want to disappoint the sneezers. I would communicate with the manager and ask him why the sandwiches are taking way to long to cook. Maybe they need to get a bigger food truck or more employees to make the sandwiches.

I think Krause had an amazing idea to feed hungry Portlanders but people that are hungry want their food quickly and he needs to work on that. Another thing that he needs to do is invent new sandwiches were people can feel like it was worthwhile the wait and that they cannot replicate the sandwich. Many people have also left reviews that say they could had easily made the sandwich at home, but they need to create something customers need to come back for more.

Watch video of how the sandwiches are made: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-HewU_NI8FM

Questions:
-Would you drive all the way to Portland to try these mouthwatering egg sandwich?

-How disappointed did you feel after reading the bad reviews about the wait?

-What do you think they should include in their menu?

Week 2 Listening Exercise

Image result for fribo

Is the top picture a cat, a ghost, no it is Fribo!! Fribo was invented by Korean researchers to help...young lonely people. The value proposition for this item is that it helps you interact with friends so you do not feel alone. Loneliness can sometimes lead to depression so the product decreases those possibilities. There is not any other product like Fribo that does truly encourage you to talk to people. The news about this new robot has recently been posted and many people are talking about it. Most of the post are positive, but like every other product there are some people that do not want anything to do with this new robot. The positive comments say that Fribo is adorable, they want one, and even though they are not lonely they still really want one

It took me a while to look for a negative comment, but I finally found it! The odd thing about this comment was that I could not find it in the computer, but in my phone I did find it. That was odd but anyways. The comment talks about how people are already horrible at socializing and that this robot is not going to help things get better, but instead get worst.. What do you think?
Fribo is a simple product that will be there when no one else is there. It listens to noises around you and communicates it (sends a text message) to your "friends" all over the world. Different noises it recognizes are washer machine, when you open the refrigerator, or when a friend arrives to your place. If you are a lazy person to text Fribo can also be handy because Fribo can respond to text messages and all you have to do is knock twice or clap. To summarize, Fribo brings lonely people together so they can communicate with each other about their daily activates. The only thing about this cute/creepy robot is that it is still not in the market. It is still being tested in Korea, but as we can see many cannot wait until they get their hands on one of this. I think the product is being advertised by many news like CNN, famous people that are talking about it, and many people are sharing to other people the new great invention.

If I was the manager of this brand, I would be extremely proud because it looks like more than 50% of people like the product. I would probably upload videos to keep customers updated about the research, so they can get even more excited for the launch of the product.

My 1st Marketing Assignment

Topic 1:

I enrolled in this class because I  had different choices as an elective and Marketing seemed like an interesting class to take.

I am a business administration major and marketing would be great to be aware about because business is surrounded by marketing.

The most interesting thing I want to learn from marketing is knowing how to properly advertise a business.

What I enjoy doing in my free time is being active, going to different places (traveling), volunteering, and spending some quality time with the people I love the most.

Topic 2:

Have you ever been through a break up? Well if not it let me keep it simple: it sucks! I was scrolling through the Internet for some actual news, which is hard now in day and as much as I wanted to read about politics (not too much). I came across an article about Pizza Hut sending free pizza to a woman that had recently went through a break up! If that does not sound insane to you then I don't know what does.

Pizza Hut was first introduced in 1958 by Dan and Frank Carney. It a well known American pizzeria that is most know for their pizza and pasta dishes. The value proposition for this company is they have their own farm where they grow their ingredients also the pizzas. The challenge the business could be facing is competition because there are many similar products/services. So, Pizza Hut needs to do a lot to differentiate from other pizza shops which has done a good job. The usual way a company is known is through advertising, but Pizza Hut did something different to get known.

The picture above shows how Pizza Hut was not completely aware they were about to get a lot of attention. People like to support others that help the community, society, and people. In addition, Pizza Hut helped a girl with her break up saying that they would be there for her through her toughest times. This post was shared online, and it was open to the public eye which is helping Pizza Hut's brand and pizza more known.
I thought it was funny how Pizza Hut did that, but I would probably do the same thing because a small funny or nice post could turn into trending. When post trend it is shared all over the world and I would have $0 of cost for advertising. The marketing approach was good because a large quantity of people are talking about this post. Doing this assignment has taught me that one small gratuity could help grow one's brand.
